Conserving Natural Resources

By Mr. Jayanta Chakraborty (President)
The growing population, rapid industrialization and urbanisation have created heavy demand on natural resources. We need to conserve natural resources for their destruction will also upset the ecological balance. In economic terms, conserving natural resources is a must for maintaining inter generational equity.
We need to conserve nature to maintain ecological balance for supporting life, to preserve biodiversity, to make resources available for present and future generations and ultimately to ensure survival of human race.
Today, most of the people are finding many ways for conserving natural resources. One of the great options is hydro-power and solar-power. Power can be generated from the sources and these are the best ways for natural resources conservation like fossil fuels. By recycling papers, cups, cardboards and envelops we can save trees.
Awareness about the problems caused by unthinkingly exploiting our resources has been a fairly recent phenomenon in our society. And once this awareness rises, some action is usually taken. Initiative like ganga action plan, phasing out of old and polluting vehicle, introduction of CNG in vehicle etc. are the results of such awareness campaign by organised association as well as individuals.
