Continuous exploitation of natural resources is worsening our well-being, hunger and poverty are posing a challenge to inter-generational equity. However, integration of environment and development concerns and greater attention to them will lead to the fulfilment of basic needs, improved living standards for all, better protected and managed ecosystems and a safer, more prosperous future. Our NGO (Ballygunge Society for Environment & Development) is here to work with associated stakeholders in creating more awareness amongst people for maintaining proper equilibrium between environment & development. At BSED, we firmly believe that a small but determined and sustainable approach for improving the living standards of rural people, in particular, shall definitely improve the concept of coexistence of environment and development.
