On 5th June, 2013, special initiatives were undertaken to commemorate the World Environment Day & increase awareness about the Environment in the village of Purba Gopinathpur, Hoogly.

• Sit n Draw competition for around 250 school children, spreading the theme of Environment & development.
• Rally around the village with villagers, Children and women throughout the village for better Earth , Better life & better living.
• Cultural programme on Environment involving local talents
• Planting of around 250 fruit saplings throughout the village.
• Quiz competition with local school children.
